Blogging Disclosure Policy

The Blogging Disclosure Policy is a structured employee disclosure form — not a policy narrative — that requires employees to list every personal blog they author or contribute to outside of work. The form captures blog name, URL, platform, primary topic, posting frequency, and whether the employer is identified. Up to three blogs can be disclosed on a single form, with the process repeatable for additional blogs.

The acknowledgment section commits the employee to four specific obligations: full disclosure, compliance with the company's Social Media Policy and [Personal Blog Policy](/templates/personal-blog-policy), adherence to disclaimer and confidentiality requirements when discussing work, and a commitment to update the form when new blogs are started. HR notes at the bottom instruct managers to file the form in the employee's personnel file, review it annually, and use it for risk assessment of employee online presence. This document is a foundational compliance tool for HR teams.
